The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, “Police State,” is coming to a Savannah movie theater for two days

The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, titled "Police State," will be shown at a Savannah movie theater on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.

D’Souza expressed his surprise at the need for this film, stating, “I honestly wouldn't have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie." He believes that there has been a rapid introduction of a police state on various levels.

The documentary explores the roots of what D’Souza refers to as "police state" activity by the government, starting with the "Patriot Act" after 9/11 and continuing with recent instances of COVID lockdowns, social media censorship, prosecution of concerned parents at school board meetings, and the surveillance and detention of Americans who were in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.

"Police State" features D’Souza himself, along with actor Nick Searcy, and interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R), radio host Dan Bongino, and several government whistleblowers.

The film's trailer has already garnered 74 million views on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) as of publication time.

The movie will be screened at AMC Savannah 11, located at 1150 Shawnee St., at 7 p.m. on both Oct. 23 and Oct. 25. In addition to Savannah, the movie will also be shown in other cities such as Atlanta, Brunswick, Columbus, and more.

D’Souza's "Police State" aims to shed light on the increasing encroachment on personal freedoms and the rise of government control, highlighting the need for vigilance in protecting civil liberties.
