State Representatives Jasmine Clark and Park Cannon, along with members of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus, will be hosting The Solution Summit: The State of PrEP and Vaccines in Georgia’s Black Community on March 11, 2024. The event will take place at the Georgia State Capitol from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"We are grateful to Leisha Mckinnely-Beach, CEO and Founder of the Black Public Health Academy, who is bringing this initiative as a blueprint for ending the HIV epidemic among Black communities in Georgia," said Rep. Clark. "We hope it is a model that will serve as a beacon for other states striving to achieve PrEP equity."

"Georgia has taken steps in the right direction due to our work in partnership with HIV advocates in securing funding for PrEP access through HB 290 (2019) and now that the DPH program has sunset with findings and recommendations, this summit will build on those efforts," added Rep. Cannon.

The Solution Summit aims to unite a broad spectrum of stakeholders including policy makers, health experts, community leaders, and advocates to address concerns surrounding HIV prevention and treatment disparities within Georgia’s Black community. The event is free and open to the public.

The event will be attended by Rep. Jasmine Clark, Rep. Park Cannon, and members of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus. It is an opportunity to further discussions and initiatives related to improving access to PrEP and vaccines within the Black community in Georgia.

The Summit will be held at the Georgia State Capitol located at 206 Washington St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30334.
